© 2024 Bay Animal Hospital. Veterinary Marketing & Websites by Vetcelerator
I am the Practice Manager and License Veterinary Technician. I have many responsibilities and overall keep the hospital functioning. You may not see me because I am doing boring office work, but I do help at the reception desk, in surgery, and in the rooms. I have been a veterinary technician since 1986 and even met my husband at my first veterinary technician job when he brought in a stool sample for his dog!
I was raised around farm animals and hunting dogs and since then spent many years showing, training, and trialing dogs, especially Rottweilers. I enjoy working with older cats and dogs, even if they are grumpy.
In my spare time, you will find me in the Florida Keys fishing and enjoying life. Here in Delaware, I enjoy plants and gardening, hanging out with my rescue Rottweiler and being Lilith’s servant.
I have been in this profession for over 40 years. I love what I do, the communication, and working with animals of all species! My many responsibilities and joys are working with the doctors, drawing blood samples, vaccinating pets, and holding and loving your pets while the doctors examine and treat them. I love making a positive experience for all of the pets I see here and I am always willing to speak with and help clients who find you animals.
I have a special interest in parasitology, pharmacology, hematology, and skin issues. I also love bottle-feeding neonates and saving lives. I was once told that if you were looking for me you would find me cleaning with one hand while bottle-feeding a critter in the other hand. My love for all of God’s creatures gets me up every morning, hence why I am a vegan! I always look forward to taking care of all my critters, inside and out because they depend on me. I love going to my job to fulfill my dream.
Outside of work, you will find me on my farm with my horses, dogs, cats, and very talkative birds. My pastures, pond, and woods are home to many raccoons, foxes, opossums, wild birds, and geese who take advantage of my generosity. I enjoy relaxing on my deck and watching all of the creatures that visit my farm. To sum it all up, I love animals and my world revolves around them.
As a 25+ year veterinary technician, Laura enjoys walking clients through especially tough times and educating them holistically rather than just their presenting complaints. She is an absolute Labrador aficionado, mostly the dark chocolate babies, and the elderly sweethearts!!! Laura has educated youth members of our community from preschool visits to High school demos and has even been a speaker at many 4H and FFA Club meetings.
When she isn’t getting her scrubs hairy and slobbery, she is getting muddy on her farm with her daughter’s flock of sheep. Her family raises rare heritage breeds. Their lovable Finnsheep, Leicester Longwools, and soon-to-be Gotland sheep are all raised as 4H projects and for wool production. They also show at the Delaware State Fair. When she isn’t chasing lambs around, she is feeding her always-hungry cat Lavender, and being suckered into extra treats and playtime by her 3 beautiful lab ladies. Her extremely patient husband and two teen girls live amongst the chaos, and she even finds time to care for her Pop-pop several days a week.
Laura has known many of the staff at Bay Animal Hospital for more than a decade and loves feeling part of a family including those special needs clients she gets to see so frequently!
I previously worked as a communications representative for NASCAR and traveled the country for six years! One day I decided to follow my ultimate dream of being in the veterinary field. My responsibilities include discussing any worries or needs you have for your 4-legged family member. One of my favorite duties is loving and comforting your pet during any kind of procedure when you can’t be there with them. Nothing wakes me up more than knowing that I have the role of being one of many superheroes your pet needs, no matter the situation.
Outside the hospital, you will see me with a couple of brushes in my hands painting on canvas or…..my face! I really enjoy playing with colorful make-up (you will see when you come in) and making art out of anything.
I am an avid Greyhound lover and trainer, so if you bring one in, I will be racing to meet your “noodle dog!” (Pun intended!!) I am also a sucker for cats of all ages and personalities and “derpy” chocolate labs!
I am a veterinary nurse at Bay Animal Hospital. While in our hospital you can find me assisting in appointments for our doctors, running our online pharmacy, or assisting in surgery. I keep our in-house diagnostic lab in perfect working condition. I am also our in-house “Potion Master,” mixing up Dr. Mauro’s special ear medications.
When I’m not at work, I care for my current zoo of pets which consists of five cats, four bunnies, three guinea pigs, two dogs, and one hamster.
I have a passion for music and in my free time, I’m always listening to classic rock.
I have been an animal lover since childhood, and cannot remember a time in my life that I did not share my home and my life with them. Veterinary medicine just made sense. I have been a veterinary technician for 16 years now, and have been a part of the Bay Animal Hospital team for four.
When I’m not snuggling furry patients at work, I can be found outside kayaking, hiking, and gardening, or planted on my sofa reading a good book or bingeing a crime drama. There’s also an excellent chance I may be sighted piloting a plant-laden cart to the checkout register of a garden center.
I am the office manager at Bay Animal Hospital. My primary job is to keep things running smoothly at the office. If you call the hospital, I am one of the people you will most likely talk to and when you come in I will be one of the people who greet you at the reception desk.
I was in the human medical field for 20+ years, most recently as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist before coming to Bay Animal Hospital. I wanted to remain in the medical field and I love animals, so you can imagine my excitement when I became part of the team here.
As a child, we had all kinds of small animals, reptiles, and dogs. The more my mother said “no,” the more my father said “yes!”
In my spare time, I like to do any and all crafts, build Lego kits, crochet, and paint. I am a “people person” and enjoy meeting and talking to new people.
Make an appointment and come see us! We would love to welcome you and your family and pets to our practice. The best part of all, you will get to meet the hospital cat, Lilith. She is worth the meet and greet.
I am the hospital greeter. You will most often find me sitting on my lush bed as soon as you come in. I came to Bay Animal Hospital in 2019 as a sick, homeless cat. I was very hard to medicate and didn’t like being brushed or getting a mani/pedi. Boy have I come a long way!! I still have a couple of favorite employees (shhh, don’t tell everyone), but I will accept attention from anyone.
I spend my days sleeping mostly, playing with my toys, and bossing my minions around. You can find me outside on nice days in the fenced yard. I enjoy watching cat games and squirrel videos. Stop by to see me!
